In addition to our big bus tours and the studio visits at Hansa Studios we also do offer a musical walk through Berlin’s rich Rock and Pop Music History.
We check out the Berlin districts by feet from a musical point of view.
On our first Walking Tour (more tours are in progress) we start with Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte districts. Meeting point is in front of KESSELHAUS, an exciting Berlin concert location on a former brewery area, nowadays called KULTURBRAUEREI. If you have problems finding it – every Berliner can show you the way there!
During the Walking Tour we criss cross famous Kastanienallee, heading on to Schönhauser Allee, Torstrasse and all the small streets and interesting backyards around Hackescher Markt area ending at world famous RAMONES Museum. There will be lots of watching and walking – so bring good shoes!
Many german artists and meanwhile also international musicians left their footsteps here and are part of the tour:
Beatsteaks, Rammstein, Modeselektor, Nina Hagen, Paul Kalkbrenner, Seeed, Sido, Wim Wenders, Ritchie Hawtin, Apparat, Ellen Alien, Westbam, Fran Healy (Travis), MIA, Maximilian Hecker, Wir sind Helden. Peter Fox and many others.
The Walking Tour deals also with the very young and fresh bands and musicians coming to Berlin recently to try out their luck. Many careers started already “on the street” – so open your ears and eyes during the walk in the city!
A former boiler house inside the old Berlin “Schultheiss” brewery in the 1850s – nowadays is one of the most important concert locations in the city. Reams of bands have played here like The Killers, Green Day, Kaiser Chiefs, Linkin Park, The Tea Party, Laibach, Paul van Dyk or Rammstein – who had their very first Berlin gig here at Kesselhaus back in 1994. And even TV-shows were produced in this extraordinary location.
On famous Kastanienallee we check out the old neighbourhood of Berlin Punk Rock Lady Nina Hagen and head on to Schönhauser Allee and Torstrasse to recent hot spots like White Trash Fast Food restaurant & Kaffee Burger club, real underground legends like “Eimer” (bucket) or still running homebase club of Jazzanova crew called Delicious Doughnuts on Rosenthaler Strasse.
Of course we don’t want to give away the whole tour route and content, but we also talk about the massive house occupations in the early 90s and the colourful punk rock scene in former East-Berlin.
With a small jump through the backyards of Hackescher Markt area we’re ending the tour at world famous and very first RAMONES Museum in Berlin Mitte district. They organise constantly live concerts all year long or nice little BBQs in the summer here. The tour guests have free access in the museum and get a cold water or hot coffee after the walk to relax a bit.
