Just a short note to say thank you for a wonderful music-tour of Berlin - for me, that was a real highlight of our Berlin visit... driving around from music venue to shop to old address to another music venue gave us a very good feeling of Berlin outside the main tourist areas, which was really great, and I really just wanted to hang out in Kreuzberg after the tour.

Hallo Thilo, Thanks for a most memorable tour. The tour was a chance discovery, and thank God I found out about it, as it was a high point of my trip to Berlin (November 2008).
The tour is A MUST for Iggy Pop and David Bowie fans, but I'd also recommend it to fans of U2, Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, etc., and also to anyone interested in the history of techno music. (I'm only a casual listener, but the colorful stories about the early days of clubs like Tresor and e-Werk were fascinating.)
Beyond that, I'd also urge anyone who's interested in Berlin history and culture to take this tour... you cover a huge amount of ground in the city, and through the prism of the music scene you get a unique perspective on how the city has changed in the last 20 years or so (and how it keeps changing). The stories about the rise and fall of the Love Parade, to name just one example, were priceless. You won't find these anecdotes in the history books!
In short, the tour was exhilarating (never thought I'd set foot inside Hansa Studios), and Thilo is the most entertaining guide you can hope for. Anyone hesitating about whether to "splurge" on the tour... definitely don't miss it!

The tour was very good. I learned things that I had no idea about and of course the most important thing for me was finding out that David Bowie lived in the same street where my language school is! Earnestly now, it was good and very precise about a city that played a special part in modern european pop culture.
